Lead AV Installation Engineer

Location: Bolton, BL2 (Office & Site Based)
Salary: £24,000 – £31,000
Working Hours: Monday – Friday (8:00am – 5:00pm)
Travel: Regular UK-wide travel with frequent overnight stays

Overview

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Lead AV Installation Engineer to join our growing team, delivering high-quality Audio Visual installations across commercial environments including pubs, hospitality venues, care homes, and other customer-facing facilities.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys working on‑site, leading installations, solving technical challenges, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards. You will be responsible for overseeing the installation and commissioning process, working closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery from start to finish.

The ideal candidate will have a strong AV installation background, excellent customer‑facing skills, and the ability to lead by example whilst maintaining exceptional standards of workmanship and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation, configuration, and commissioning of Audio Visual, networking, and associated technology systems across commercial sites
  • Interpret AV schematics and construction plans to ensure accurate and efficient installations
  • Carry out fault finding, troubleshooting, and system testing to ensure installations are fully operational and meet client requirements
  • Build, wire, and configure AV equipment racks while supporting first and second fix installation activities
  • Coordinate daily workloads, liaise with clients, contractors, and internal departments, and ensure projects are delivered safely and on schedule
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, health & safety compliance, project documentation, and administrative processes

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as an AV Installation Engineer within a commercial environment
  • Strong understanding of Audio Visual systems, networking infrastructure, and installation best practices
  • Experience interpreting AV schematics, technical drawings, and construction documentation
  • Excellent fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong customer‑facing and communication skills with a professional appearance and approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
  • Commitment to maintaining safe working practices and high‑quality workmanship
  • Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development
  • Flexibility to travel extensively throughout the UK, including regular overnight stays
  • Full UK Driving Licence
