A brilliant opportunity has come up to work with a leading UK packaging supplier operating from a modern logistics site. The business is well established, forward-thinking, and continues to grow through smarter packaging solutions. They are now seeking an experienced Inventory Planner to join their supply chain team, playing a key role in demand planning, stock control, and supplier management. This is an excellent opportunity for someone analytical, commercially minded, and looking to progress their career within packaging.

Location – Bedfordshire

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

Our client is offering a salary reflective of experience along with 23 days holiday plus bank holidays and a non-contractual half day for your birthday, auto-enrolment salary exchange pension scheme, life assurance, health cashback plan, free onsite parking including electric charging points, and free food and beverages (with lunches provided periodically).

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining stock levels to ensure excellent product availability.
  • Purchasing goods as required at the most beneficial market rates.
  • Ensuring replenishments arrive on schedule.
  • Communicating stock availability and lead times to the Sales team.
  • Managing the planning and launch of new products to customers on time.
  • Proactively managing and preventing overstock situations.
  • Liaising closely with the Sales team to gain insight into demand forecasts.
  • Processing quote requests, issuing to suppliers, and managing responses.
  • Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in demand and/or supply planning.
  • Strong data-driven mindset with a passion for service excellence.
  • Excellent time management and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Strong communication skills that inspire confidence internally and externally.
  • Good negotiation skills with a commercial approach.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Some purchasing experience preferred, ideally within packaging.
  • Demonstrable supplier and/or customer relationship management skills.
  • CIPS qualification (A Level or above) advantageous.
