Role Overview
They are seeking a dynamic and technically skilled BMS Special Project Manager to lead the delivery of niche, complex BMS projects for key end-user clients. This hybrid role will require a strong presence across London sites and remote coordination with internal teams and stakeholders. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between engineering, commercial, and client teams, ensuring project success from inception through to handover and aftercare.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full lifecycle of BMS special projects from scope definition through to commissioning and handover.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile end-user clients, maintaining excellent relationships and clear communication throughout.
- Oversee delivery of niche and bespoke system integrations and upgrades, ensuring alignment with energy efficiency and smart building strategies.
- Coordinate with internal design, commissioning, and support teams to ensure project milestones and quality benchmarks are achieved.
- Monitor project budgets, risks, and timelines, implementing mitigation strategies where required.
- Manage third-party contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with ABEC and client standards.
- Support the sales/pre-sales team in developing technical proposals and scoping documentation.
- Deliver technical presentations and project updates to client stakeholders and internal leadership.
Key Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience in managing BMS projects (Trend, Tridium, Siemens, or similar platforms).
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, especially with end users.
- Exceptional project management skills, with a record of delivering technically complex and high-value projects.
- Ability to interpret design documentation, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Experience in managing hybrid delivery environments and coordinating multiple teams.
- Strong understanding of building services and energy performance principles.
Desirable:
- Engineering or technical degree (Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services).
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks (BREEAM, NABERS, etc.).
