My client is seeking an experienced BMS Project Manager to deliver Building Management System (BMS) and Smart Building projects across the Midlands. Working across sectors including commercial buildings, data centres, and healthcare, you will manage projects from design through to commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery
    • Manage the full BMS project lifecycle, from design and installation through to commissioning and handover.
    • Define project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
    • Track progress against milestones and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Technical Oversight
    • Oversee BMS systems including HVAC, lighting controls, energy monitoring, and smart building technologies.
    • Review technical drawings, specifications, and control strategies.
    • Support system start-up, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
    • Ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Team & Stakeholder Management
    • Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
    • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
    • Coordinate engineers, subcontractors, and project teams to achieve project objectives.
    • Work closely with senior management and engineering teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Financial & Quality Management
    • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost control.
    • Identify and mitigate project risks.
    • Handle variations, change orders, and contractual requirements.
    • Ensure quality standards, documentation, and client handover requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Experience
    • Proven experience as a BMS Project Manager within the BMS/Controls industry.
    • Track record of delivering technical projects on time and within budget.
    • Experience managing multiple stakeholders, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Technical Knowledge
    • Strong understanding of BMS platforms such as Siemens, Trend, Tridium, Distech, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric.
    • Knowledge of HVAC controls and integration protocols including BACnet and Modbus.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Skills
    • Excellent planning, budgeting, organisational, and leadership skills.
    • Strong communication, report writing, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across the Midlands.
