£40,000 - £55,000 Salary (DOE)

South UK

Monday - Friday | 08:30 - 17:30

You will be responsible for commissioning and testing audio-visual (AV) systems across commercial and educational environments. Your role will ensure that every installation is fully operational, reliable, and user-friendly prior to handover. The position involves a combination of workshop-based pre-site commissioning and on-site testing and commissioning at customer premises throughout the South of the UK, with occasional travel to other regions as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission and test complete AV systems to verify full functionality and performance standards.
  • Configure and test systems including video conferencing platforms (MTR, Zoom Rooms, etc.), control systems, displays, audio systems, room booking systems, and digital signage.
  • Programme and optimise audio DSPs (e.g. QSC, Biamp, Extron), including routing, EQ, delay, and noise management.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with high industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex AV and networking issues efficiently.
  • Configure network switches (Netgear, Cisco) relevant to AV systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Designers, and Installation Engineers to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand requirements and address queries professionally.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation, including system configurations, IP and MAC addresses, and commissioning records.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience commissioning and optimising audio-visual systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Audio DSP, unified communications (UC) systems, digital signage, LED and videowall solutions.
  • Solid networking knowledge relevant to AV systems (including Dante, AVoIP, multicast, Netgear, Cisco, etc.).
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a wider technical team.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Confident communicator, capable of liaising effectively with customers and IT teams.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Full right to work in the UK.
