The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Asbestos Consultant to join a growing specialist team, working across a diverse range of commercial, industrial, residential and public-sector projects throughout Waikato, Auckland and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for an asbestos professional looking to develop their career within a technically focused environment, undertaking asbestos surveying, sampling, air monitoring and reporting. You will work independently on projects while also collaborating closely with the wider asbestos and occupational hygiene team, clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.
The Role
As an Asbestos Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality asbestos consultancy services, ensuring all work is undertaken safely, accurately and in accordance with current New Zealand legislation and WorkSafe requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct asbestos management surveys and refurbishment/demolition surveys.
- Collect representative bulk asbestos samples using appropriate sampling and decontamination procedures.
- Prepare clear, accurate and comprehensive asbestos survey reports, registers and management recommendations.
- Undertake asbestos air monitoring and Class A&B clearance inspections.
- Prepare technical asbestos removal scopes and review contractor documentation.
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years Asbestos Consultancy experience.
- Hold IP402/P402 & IP404/P404 certifications.
- Strong written English with the ability to produce clear, concise and technically accurate reports.
- Full Driving Licence.
- Eligible to work in New Zealand.
- Comfortable working safely within roof spaces, plant rooms, construction sites and other restricted or challenging environments.
