About Us

We are an award-winning medical technology company pioneering the application of microwave energy in healthcare. Our technology delivers precise, repeatable procedures that improve clinical outcomes, and our products are used in surgical ablation applications worldwide—both under our own brand and as white-label solutions for OEM partners.

The Role

This position sits at the intersection of innovation and regulatory rigour. You\’ll work across the full product lifecycle—from rapid prototyping through to controlled manufacturing transfer—designing mechanical systems that integrate seamlessly with complex electronics.

The work alternates between fast-paced iterative prototyping and methodical verification and validation cycles. You\’ll collaborate extensively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, requiring both technical excellence and strong interpersonal skills. Problem-solving through experimentation is fundamental to this role; we value engineers who learn through making, testing, and refining.

Your responsibilities span new product development, sustaining engineering for existing systems, and supporting manufacturing operations. You\’ll develop test protocols, conduct root cause analysis on non-conformances, and ensure all work meets medical device regulatory requirements.

What We\’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor\’s degree (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years in product development, particularly mechanical design for electronics systems
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling and technical drawing)
  • Experience with structured development processes and comprehensive documentation
  • Natural problem-solving approach with comfort in iterative design
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative working style

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience in medical devices or safety-critical industries (aerospace, defence, energy)
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, IEC 60601, and risk management (ISO 14971)
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (CFD, thermal, multiphysics)
  • Understanding of both rapid prototyping and volume manufacturing (injection moulding, sheet metal)
  • Practical electronics knowledge (soldering, measurement)
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM) expertise

What\’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
