As part of this investment, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HSE Advisor to join their team based in Forfar.
This is much more than a compliance role. Working closely with the HSE Manager, you'll play a key role in developing a positive safety culture, driving continuous improvement and supporting Health, Safety & Environmental performance across a busy manufacturing site.
The Role
Reporting to the HSE Manager, you'll support the implementation and delivery of the company's Health, Safety & Environmental strategy. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the continuous improvement of the Health & Safety Management System
- Ensuring compliance with UK Health, Safety & Environmental legislation
- Carrying out workplace, COSHH, equipment and process risk assessments
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Managing contractor safety and safe systems of work
- Delivering HSE inductions, toolbox talks and employee training
- Conducting audits, inspections and compliance monitoring
- Supporting ISO management systems and external audits
- Advising on facilities compliance, including fire safety, asbestos, legionella and statutory inspections
- Managing PPE procurement and supplier relationships
- Producing HSE reports and performance updates for senior management
- Working collaboratively with production, engineering and maintenance teams to improve site safety
About You
We're looking for an experienced HSE professional who can combine technical expertise with the ability to influence and engage people across the business. You'll ideally have:
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent
- Experience within manufacturing, heavy engineering, industrial processing, construction products, textiles or a similar environment
- A strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Experience implementing HSE improvement initiatives and driving behavioural change
- Knowledge of ISO management systems and audit programmes
- Experience managing contractors and permit-to-work systems
- Confidence delivering HSE training and engaging operational teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
You'll also be proactive, organised, pragmatic and passionate about creating a positive safety culture.
