Consultant/Senior Consultant – Heritage & Archaeology
Overview
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and focused professional to join our growing and friendly team. You’ll be joining a thriving and well-established UK-wide environmental consultancy, which is part of a larger multinational, multidisciplinary, helping us to deliver on a diverse portfolio of projects, right across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery of heritage and archaeology projects and reporting, with a variety of scope, scale and complexity, including subcontractor management and client liaison.
- Devise mitigation measures for archaeological and cultural heritage resources; provide robust, objective solutions to clients.
- Liaise with statutory/non-statutory authorities, clients, and design teams and respond to project submissions.
- Mentor junior staff, promote knowledge-sharing, and participate in training initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant planning, environmental, and heritage legislation and policy.
Essential Criteria and skills
- Minimum BA/BSc degree in archaeology, heritage or a closely related field.
- Demonstrable archaeological/heritage consultancy experience, including examples of managed projects.
- Thorough understanding of planning systems and policy as related to archaeology and heritage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organisational and problem-solving ability, able to thrive under pressure.
- High proficiency in Word, Excel, and use of GIS/mapmaking software (QGIS, ArcGIS preferred).
- Full driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
- Membership (or working toward) with CIfA (preferably Associate or above).
- A full, valid UK driving licence.
