The technical manager is expected to lead technical operations and strategy by maintaining high internal performance standards while proactively engaging with external stakeholders, market trends, and customer needs to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage.
This aspect of the role is primarily to support the Plant Manager in making technical decisions and support projects throughout its lifecycle including:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the technical team to ensure high performance and capability growth
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Manage budgets, resources, and project delivery within agreed constraints
- Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain asset reliability, maintenance strategies, and technical documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally (production, quality, supply chain) to optimise operations
- Identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and performance enhancement
- Support business development, bids, and technical proposals
Proven experience in technical leadership or engineering management. Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to the industry.
