Business Development Manager – Food & Public Health Solutions
£50,000 per annum plus commission & company car
The business are a leading provider of compliance, veterinary, and public health solutions to the food industry, supporting both public and private sector clients across the UK and internationally. Following recent investment and ambitious growth plans, they are seeking a talented Business Development Manager to join their team in Leeds.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the COO, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business streams and diversifying their service offering. This is a standalone position with significant autonomy, supported by a lead generation partner, a project manager, and the marketing team. You will:
- Analyse and validate new service line opportunities – develop business cases and take viable projects to market, including potential M&A activity.
- Promote our proposition to Local Authorities – covering areas such as Animal Welfare Licensing, Animal Feed Inspections, and Food Hygiene Inspections.
- Identify and pursue new tender opportunities – ensuring compelling and timely bid submissions.

- Experience in public health, food businesses, auditing, local authorities, or animal welfare.
- Lead Auditor or veterinary background (advantageous but not essential).
- Experience in the meat or broader food industry.
