We’re looking for a motivated Wellness Coach to deliver integrated health and wellbeing services across Slough, supporting individuals to make positive and lasting lifestyle changes.
Salary: £26,375 – £27,000
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Location: Slough
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging health and wellbeing sessions (in-person)
- Complete health checks, assessments, and referrals
- Support programmes including weight management, falls prevention, and smoking cessation
- Work with GP practices, community groups, and local partners
- Operate our mobile health clinic (manual driving licence required)
- Work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends
About you:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in health, science, or social science
- Experience delivering health or wellbeing programmes
- Strong communication and motivational skills
- Confident using IT systems with good attention to detail

Main duties of the job:
- Supporting the instructor of the Shape Up 4 Life programme in local community settings.
- Effectively managing weekly groups by providing support to participants to improve their behaviour and take responsibility for losing weight using motivational interviewing, negotiating and empathic skills.
- Taking anthropometric measures such as height, weight, waist circumference and blood pressure from clients.
- Completing appropriate paperwork such as dietary analysis questionnaire, physical activity questionnaire and evaluation forms.
- Participating in any necessary training programmes and take responsibility for own development, learning and performance.
- Support the delivery of the Health & Wellbeing Slough service.
- Undertake NHS health checks and general health assessments using the Integrated Health Systems (IHS) in multiple local community settings.
- Work closely with GPs and other health professionals, community and voluntary organisations to ensure maximum reach to the residents of Slough.
- Promote the digital offer for the service such as the lifestyle quiz and mobile applications.
- Identify and undertake falls risk assessments in service users’ homes.
- Support the set-up and delivery of OTAGO Strength and Balance clinics.
- Undertake confidential health screening for all referred patients.
- Ensure programmes are reflective of the individual needs of the patients and are mindful of health and safety standards.
- Explain to clients the principles of Stop Smoking Services.
- Motivate and empower clients to make behaviour changes.
- Deliver a client-led treatment plan in accordance with national and local guidelines.
- Manage conflict effectively either in a group setting or with individual clients.
- Monitor outcomes of treatment programmes for their effectiveness.
