What You’ll Do:
- Support clients with tailored quit plans and ongoing motivation
- Deliver weekly sessions (face-to-face, phone, and virtual)
- Conduct CO monitoring and prescribe Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)
- Drive and maintain the mobile clinic, reaching underserved areas
- Record outcomes accurately in line with NICE guidelines
- Support outreach events and health promotion in schools and communities
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in health promotion or advisory roles
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach
- Comfortable with IT systems and managing a caseload

Main duties of the job:
- Explain to clients the principles of Stop Smoking so that they can make an informed choice regarding their treatment.
- Motivate and empower clients to make behaviour changes.
- Deliver a client-led treatment plan in concordance with national and local guidelines, effectively and professionally. This will include CO monitoring, the completion of accurate data to comply with NICE guidelines, and a comprehensive account of weekly interventions.
- Deliver telephone and face-to-face support for clients.
- Prescribe and distribute Nicotine Replacement Therapy products based on client needs.
- Monitor outcomes of treatment programmes for their effectiveness.
- Accurately inputting and maintaining the service’s database systems.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
- Ensure a commitment to own personal development by attending all team meetings and training as required and keeping up to date with research and best practice.
- An outgoing personality with the ability to engage confidently and effectively with a vast spectrum of individuals and interest groups.
- Continue and build new partnerships with existing and new stakeholders.
- Commitment for addressing healthcare inequalities, and successfully reach out to vulnerable groups within the community, which could include people recovering from addictions, young parents, areas of deprivation and more.
- Plan and organise workload, this will include the management of a caseload.
- Deliver one to one, face-to-face clinics, which will have emphasis on supporting clients from local communities. These may be face to face or drop-in sessions.
- Actively participate in promotional events which may include weekend working.
- Work with local schools and colleges to understand and address smoking rates in young people.
- Support the design and delivery of workshops, presentations, and educational sessions in schools, community centres and other locations to promote the service.

Person Specification:
- A strong understanding of the impact of smoking on health
- An understanding of health inequalities within the local area
- Knowledge of current trends in smoking and vaping among young people
- Ability to understand and respect the diverse cultural backgrounds of people, tailoring support to meet their specific needs.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with a wide variety of people, making them feel comfortable and respected.
- IT skills and experience with data inputting
- Training will be provided, this role requires the successful candidate to undertake considerable online training including smoking cessation NCSCT level 2 training, safeguarding and other training as agreed with the line manager.
- Full Clean Driving Licence (no more than 3 points)
- The ability to travel and transport equipment between clinics across Oxfordshire
- A certified NCSCT Smoking Cessation Practitioner is desirable
- Knowledge of behaviour change models
- Proficiency in techniques like motivational interviewing to encourage behaviour change and support people in their journey to quit smoking
- Knowledge of the local area of Oxfordshire
