Main duties of the job
This is a varied and rewarding clinical role where you will deliver a wide range of sexual health services. You will work within nurse‑led clinics, providing holistic assessment, diagnosis and treatment, while supporting patients to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health. You will primarily be based at our Level 3 clinic in Doncaster, with occasional travel to local outreach clinics and some flexibility required for evening sessions. If not already qualified, you will be supported to complete your FSRH Diploma and develop into a dual‑trained contraceptive nurse.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering nurse‑led sexual health clinics, including taking comprehensive sexual histories
- Undertaking genital examinations and diagnostic testing for sexually transmitted infections
- Performing microscopy, making diagnoses and initiating treatment
- Assessing contraceptive needs and providing a full range of contraception, including LARC methods
- Fitting and removing contraceptive implants (or working towards competency)
- Providing pregnancy testing, counselling and onward referrals where appropriate
- Delivering health promotion, education and advice on sexual health and contraception
- Maintaining accurate, confidential clinical records
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of care
- Supporting safeguarding processes and managing sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
