We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager and Senior Planner to join a major, complex linear infrastructure project in Scotland, ideally based around Fort Augustus / Overline. The project involves the construction of 444 new overhead line towers from Fort Augustus to the Isle of Skye, alongside a technically complex underground cable section and approximately 160km of new access tracks.
Role Overview
- The Planning Manager will lead the construction programme, take ownership of the planning function, and work closely with the project team and Construction Directors. This is a hands-on role requiring strong P6 capability and a proactive, “go-getter” mindset.
- The Senior Planner will act as the Planning Manager’s right-hand support, responsible for managing the overhead line scope, while an existing planner manages the underground cabling works.
A background in civils projects (e.g. highways, access tracks, large earthworks) is highly a must.
Location & Working Pattern
- Minimum 4 days per week on site (Monday–Thursday), with some flexibility for remote working
- Monday–Friday working week, typically 40 hours
- Preference for candidates based in Scotland
Contract Details
- Start date: ASAP
- Initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension
- Competitive day rates depending on experience
- Planning Manager: £700–£750/day
- Senior Planner: ÂŁ650/day
- Accommodation can be provided if required (adjusted rate applies)
