Well-established, small building contractor based in East London, delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects across London and the surrounding areas require an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team and play a key role in the commercial management of their projects. Reporting to the Directors, you will take full commercial responsibility for 3-4 projects from pre-construction through to final account. This is a hands-on role offering real autonomy and the opportunity to influence commercial strategy within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing all commercial aspects of projects from tender to final account
- Preparing cost plans, budgets, and feasibility assessments
- Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and contract administration
- Valuations, variations, and interim applications for payment
- Cost reporting and cash flow forecasting
- Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and margin targets
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and project teams
You will be:
- Experienced as a Quantity Surveyor, with at least 4 years at Senior level
- Have experience working for a main contractor
- Strong knowledge of JCT contracts
- Proven experience managing projects independently
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar (preferred)
- RICS accreditation (desirable but not essential)
