Overview

To support continued growth, this well established building contractor are seeking an experienced and proactive Health and Safety Advisor to join their team and ensure that our operations remain compliant and safe.

You will take a leading role in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust health and safety systems on a large Industrial build in Reading.

You\’ll work closely with project managers, site teams, and senior leadership to promote a culture of safety-first and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the company\\\’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with current legislation and company standards.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Deliver health and safety training, toolbox talks, and inductions for staff and subcontractors.
  • Keep up-to-date with new legislation and best practices, advising the business on necessary changes.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce regular reports for senior management.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent) – essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years\\\’ experience in a similar health and safety role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
