We are recruiting a junior estimator to work for a well-established fit-out building contractor delivering high-quality commercial and workplace projects in London and the South-East. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in estimating within the construction industry. You will work alongside the company's experienced estimator gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Measure quantities from drawings using digital take-off software.
- Obtain and compare quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Help prepare bills of quantities and pricing schedules.
- Maintain supplier and subcontractor databases.
- Liaise with project managers, site teams, and clients where required.
- Support the handover of successful tenders to the delivery team.
- Carry out general administrative duties within the estimating department.
You will need:
- Previous experience in construction, estimating, quantity surveying, or a related role is desirable but not essential.
- A qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a similar discipline is advantageous.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
