We are working with a small/medium sized building contractor specialising in London and South-East commercial office fit-out projects ranging in value from £50k to £5m. Due to increased workload, they are looking for an Estimator to join their close-knit team and play an important role in pricing and securing upcoming projects.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates with key clients across a range of fit-out and refurbishment projects, working closely with the construction director and site teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and take-offs from drawings and specifications
- Pricing subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Reviewing plans, scopes, and contract documents
- Identifying risks, value-engineering opportunities, and cost savings
- Assisting with tender submissions and variations
- Maintaining pricing databases and supplier relationships
About You
- Previous experience as an Estimator (ideally in fit-out, refurbishment, or small works)
- Strong understanding of building methods and materials
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Well organised with good attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a small team and taking ownership of your work
- Proficient in estimating software and Excel (or similar tools)
