My client delivers specialist engineering services to the UK’s transport network across aviation, rail and adjacent markets. Their vision is to be the leading provider of essential infrastructure services to the transport sector in the UK. They are seeking to recruit a Site Agent to join their Defence team. You will be managing Civil engineering projects across our varied portfolio of civil infrastructure works in safety and operationally critical environments across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to a Project Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Controlling safety, quality & environmental activities
- Site supervision
- Health & safety management
- Supervising labour and staff
- Producing method statements and risk assessments
- Site cost / value control
- Programming
- Commercial reporting
- Client liaison
- Organising plant & materials
- Supervising construction projects and overseeing build / construction activities
- Liaising with clients and reporting progress
- Management of sub-contractors
- Cost monitoring and control
- Control of health and safety on site
- Quality control of all construction activities
- Responsible for all correspondence and record keeping in accordance with the clients procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Project management & delivery experience within a safety critical environment
- Fully conversant with safety regulations (particularly CDM)
- Possess a strong commercial acumen with knowledge of project management and NEC forms of contract, to manage day to day contract obligations
- Demonstrable experience with both the commercial & project deliverables on previous projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate the people working with you
- Proven experience in managing civil engineering and building projects
- Proven MS Project skills
- SMSTS
- Proven ability of managing temporary works
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a site manager
- CSCS Card – Black
- Full Clean Driving License
You may currently be working as a Site Agent / Site Manager for a Civil Engineering Contractor or you may be a Sub Agent / Project Engineer looking to take the next step. Ideally Degree qualified in Civil engineering (or equivalent), with a successful track record managing civil engineering & infrastructure projects.
