My client is a leading international civil engineering company, specialising in complex market segments such as Transportation, Energy, Tunnelling, Building, Civil and Structural Engineering. They are looking to expand their team with skilled and enthusiastic individuals to deliver a tunnelling project in the beautiful region of Snowdonia, North Wales. The project work will significantly enhance the visual impact of the area, burying a network of overhead cables and removing a number of pylons to restore and protect the natural beauty, wildlife and environmental heritage of this precious landscape.
The project requires a Design Engineer (Design Coordination) to manage consult design activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed programme and Client requirements. You will be the technical lead for the permanent works design on the project unless a Design Manager is present. You will be responsible for managing and communicating all design queries, comments and information required from design workshops and meetings and keep records accordingly.
Within the role you will arrange internal design interface meetings with the construction department and ensure compliance with design management processes as required by the contract. Within this role, you will be required to have a background or previous experience in design management. Technical knowledge of civil engineering/construction would also be beneficial.
You will have comprehensive communication and organisation skills and the ability to engage with consultants, clients and other bodies as appropriate. You must be able to work collaboratively, setting and acting upon clear and realistic goals and objectives. The ability to use your own initiative, question assumptions and learn from and share experiences is also essential for this role.
They will provide a competitive salary and benefits (including pension and health care plan), accommodation allowance (if outside of a reasonable commuting distance) and access to outstanding training and career opportunities.
