We are looking for a confident individual to join an award-winning firm. As part of the implementation of the BIM Strategy, the design team shall assign a BIM Coordinator. The individual shall have relevant experience for the project size and complexity, with proficiency in authoring, coordination, quality assurance, and issue tracking tools. The BIM Coordinator will serve as the main contact with the BIM Lead for BIM-related issues and will be responsible for delivering BIM services across projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Detail and produce architectural packages for presentation, tender, and construction.
- Set up BIM projects, making early decisions on model division and distribution based on design and construction needs, location, and collaboration requirements.
- Work with BIM Champions to verify compliance with the BIM Management Plan.
- With the BIM Lead, establish training materials and conduct software training.
- Develop BIM protocols, BEPs, EIR checklists, and integrate standards to create and implement a BIM Management Plan.
- Create Revit templates, families, and Dynamo scripts to improve efficiency.
- Coordinate and verify configurations for seamless model integration.
- Facilitate composite design models in coordination and clash detection meetings, providing detection reports and resolving collisions.
- Ensure BIM is used to test design requirements and criteria.
- Provide design deliverables in specified formats as per contract.
- Interface with Architects, BIM Champions, and IT Helpdesk to ensure proper software operation.
- Possess good design ability and strong technical knowledge.
- Have good knowledge of UK building regulations.
- Have advanced knowledge of BIM authoring tools.
- Coordinate and verify geometrical and alphanumeric data, including BIM federation and data analysis tools like Navisworks Manage and Solibri Model Checker.
- Use office software for documentation and communication.
- Manage file exchange, uploads, and downloads within CDE.
- Practical knowledge of issue tracking platforms like BIM Collab and BIM Track.
- Strong communication skills adaptable to different audiences.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness, responsibility, and reliability.
- Ability to build effective relationships and manage time to meet deadlines.
- Ability to analyze problems and propose solutions.
Qualifications, Certifications, and Experience:
- Experience with PAS 2-2: 3 or ISO – 2 requirements, understanding UK Government mandates.
- Experience as an Architect and BIM Coordinator.
- Degree, diploma, or certificate in a relevant construction or design subject.
- Professional qualification in a relevant field.
- Recognized certification such as Autodesk, BRE, or RICS.
