Field-Based School IT Technician
Location: Somerset Area
Salary: £29,000 – £32,000 per annum
Bonus & Commission:
- Up to £1,200 annual bonus
- Individual and team commission schemes available
Schedule: Monday to Friday

The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced IT Technician to join our growing education support team. This is a field-based role, providing on-site IT support and project installations at schools throughout the Somerset area.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting regular scheduled visits to schools
- Responding to emergency call-outs
- Delivering and supporting IT infrastructure projects
- Providing expert advice and technical support in person and remotely
What You\'ll Need
We\'re looking for someone with strong technical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users. Experience working in an educational environment is essential.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in an IT support role within a school or education setting
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS and safeguarding check
Technical Experience (any of the following beneficial):
- Network Administration & Management (VPNs, VLANs, Ubiquiti WiFi, Firewalls, Switches)
- Virtualisation technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V)
- Microsoft SCCM, PowerShell scripting
- Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, SharePoint, Teams
- JAMF or other Apple MDM solutions
- Google Workspace, Chromebooks, Google Classroom (not essential but a bonus)
