Due to our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager with extensive fruit & vegetable produce knowledge, to operate in the London Area. Your customer base will include 5-star hotels, Michelin starred restaurants, high end Contract Caterers and Directors tables, as well as ambitious independents and groups. Previous experience within this sector is essential, though not necessarily in a sales capacity, as well as good and relevant knowledge of the London food scene.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be the primary point of contact for a large portfolio of customers and will deliver a professional and timely account management service, whilst also developing your own pipeline of new business opportunities to grow sales value and margin.
Accountabilities:- Develop and manage a portfolio of existing accounts to achieve sustainable growth in sales and profit in line with company objectives.
- Grow existing customer base and develop new customers by identifying and cultivating new markets and business opportunities.
- Consistently achieve personal monthly sales target.
- Assist in the overall department strategy to develop each account to its maximum potential and conduct regular reviews.
- Maintain a good awareness of market and competitor activities.
- Build strong internal and external relationships.
- Previous experience within this sector is essential, though not necessarily in a sales capacity.
- Excellent knowledge of fresh produce and associated categories.
- Excellent knowledge of the London food sector.
- Well-connected within the industry.
- Good commercial knowledge and experience.
- Computer literate Excel / Word / PowerPoint.
- Annual pay reviews.
- Ability to grow and develop within a small, hands-on team.
