Due to our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager with extensive fruit & vegetable produce knowledge, to operate in the London Area. Your customer base will include 5-star hotels, Michelin starred restaurants, high end Contract Caterers and Directors tables, as well as ambitious independents and groups. Previous experience within this sector is essential, though not necessarily in a sales capacity, as well as good and relevant knowledge of the London food scene.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be the primary point of contact for a large portfolio of customers and will deliver a professional and timely account management service, whilst also developing your own pipeline of new business opportunities to grow sales value and margin.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of existing accounts to achieve sustainable growth in sales and profit in line with company objectives.
  • Grow existing customer base and develop new customers by identifying and cultivating new markets and business opportunities.
  • Consistently achieve personal monthly sales target.
  • Assist in the overall department strategy to develop each account to its maximum potential and conduct regular reviews.
  • Maintain a good awareness of market and competitor activities.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships.
Competencies / Skills/Experience/ Knowledge:
  • Previous experience within this sector is essential, though not necessarily in a sales capacity.
  • Excellent knowledge of fresh produce and associated categories.
  • Excellent knowledge of the London food sector.
  • Well-connected within the industry.
  • Good commercial knowledge and experience.
  • Computer literate Excel / Word / PowerPoint.
