Quality Assistant & NPD Coordinato r London, SW19 Salary: £28,000 pa 5 over 7 shift pattern, 40 hours per week (2.30pm 11.30pm) As the Quality Assistant & NPD Coordinator, you will ensure that all products manufactured on site are safe, meet customer requirements and comply with food safety standards & current legislation. This will include conducting effective departmental audits to help drive continuous improvements. You will be working alongside the Technical Team, supporting the development of Solstice. Support the sites to ensure full compliance to BRCGS standards and other customer audit requirements. Co-ordinate site activities to support the New Product Development (NPD) agenda. Ensuring documents and products are produced according to customer requirements, and the site team are meeting objectives and timelines. Accountabilities: Monitoring ongoing compliance with food safety, legislation, quality & customer requirements, and industry regulatory requirements. Interpret and implement quality assurance standards and procedures. Monitor and promote GMP, Hygiene, Quality Standards, and adherence to all Quality Management & Food Safety related procedures. Conducting and document internal audits (GMP, Hygiene, Glass & Plastic). Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances issued. Conduct verification checks on sites Critical Control Points and help in day-to-day maintenance of HACCP. Provide technical support and advice to production team. Routine QA/Technical tasks. Supporting Warehouse Team in raw materials quality checks. Supporting the Technical Manager in preparations for audits. Supporting Production Team and Hygiene Team in closing any non-conformities raised during internal audits as well as second- and third-party audits. Liaise with production to ensure products samples can be produced at the required time, to the required specification. Liaise with Supply Chain and Warehouse to ensure raw materials are available when required for NPD activities. Ensure that Analysis is completed and forwarded to relevant parties after approval from the General Manager of pricing for each sample produced. Essential Knowledge, Competencies, abilities, and skills: Minimum of 2 years experience within the food industry, preferably manufacturing. Food Safety Level 2 (Essential) HACCP Level 2 (Essential) Food Safety related degree (Desirable). Knowledge of quality control procedures and functions. Good communicator across all levels, formal and informal. Understanding of Health & Safety procedures on site. Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
