5 over 7 shift pattern, 40 hours per week
Due to our continued growth, we have an immediate requirement for an experienced Multi-skilled Engineer with an Electrical Bias, to join our production facility in Wimbledon.
You will be responsible for completing routine and emergency repairs to equipment, fixtures, fittings and building systems (either with direct or indirect supervision), including electrical work, basic carpentry, decorating, building repairs, mechanical trouble shooting and creating and undertaking planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule for all equipment.
This will also include responding to reports of broken or faulty items, conducting routine inspections of buildings/equipment and liaising with external specialists and contractors to carry out repairs.
Accountabilities:
  • Reporting to the General Manager, to undertake scheduled and reactive maintenance activities within the production, warehouse and offices.
  • Provide a full range of maintenance support for PPM and reactive issues including but not limited to – minor building/plumbing repairs, Electrical/Mechanical trouble shooting and repairs & general maintenance.
  • Implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
  • Carrying out reactive and emergency breakdown tasks allocated.
  • Liaise as required with external contractors, overseeing their activities and conform to all H&S regulations and best practices.
  • Attend meetings and workshops.
  • Perform other maintenance duties as requested.
  • Travel may be required occasionally to support subsidiary sites within the M25.

Essential Knowledge, Competencies, abilities, and skills:

  • Educated to GCSE Level, Grade C or above in English, Maths and Science.
  • Recognised Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Experience of working in a Warehouse / Food Distribution environment.
  • General maintenance and facilities experience.
  • Experience of working on HVAC equipment.
  • Experience of working in chilled environments and with refrigeration equipment.
  • H&S/ COSHH trained.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
