About the Role
To deliver Field Application Engineering excellence, working with customers, Sales Support, Business Development, Brand Management, Product Management and Technology. The field applications engineer will use own extensive knowledge of contactors and relays to identify, develop and implement technical solutions for customers using the Durakool® product range. As an enabler to Durakool the field application engineer will be customer facing and support other customer-facing colleagues to deliver enhanced levels of sales growth whilst helping to define and extend the product range. The field applications engineer will be instrumental in positioning Durakool as the subject matter experts regarding Durakool® solutions. Travel to Copthorne (near London Gatwick) will be required - Mileage is paid.
Responsibilities
- Understand customer applications, propose design and develop specifications to deliver application solutions.
- Work with all customer-facing teams and Durakool distributors to develop new design opportunities for the full product line sold by Durakool.
- Liaise with customer design teams, in-house and external to develop the final validated application solution towards design-win.
- Create a culture of implementing robust, reliable technical solutions to solve customers’ product and design issues.
- Support problem solving in relation to customer manufacturing processes ensuring that corrective actions are advised efficiently and effectively.
- Challenge product design / production process specifications to achieve enhanced solution performance to target “best in class”.
- Coach, train and develop skills in the engineering / sales team.
- Management of quality approvals/certifications, in conjunction with the Quality and Compliance team relating to Durakool branded devices.
- Maintain all products approvals and certifications ensuring they are updated as appropriate.
- Managing technical interface with key manufacturing partners.
- Monitor and understand the market landscape (competitive and application-based) for new products, providing input for the Durakool team towards overall strategy, innovations, product life cycle and application road mapping.
- Promote the effective implementation and introduction of new products.
- Assist with preparing and presenting data for sales and distributor review meetings.
- Assist with preparing and presenting data for technical customer seminars to promote Durakool as subject matter experts.
- Direct involvement in the development of new in-house manufacturing capabilities.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Engineering
Required Skills
- Solid knowledge about CE, UL, VDE, TUV.
- Understanding of H&S legislation and the impact on a product testing environment.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Solid electric and mechanical background.
- Project management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels verbally and in writing.
- Computer and Microsoft Office literate.
- Ability to appreciate the strategic implications of decisions made in managing solutions delivery.

Pay range and compensation package
£60,000 to £70,000
