We are expanding our exceptional team to ensure ABBA Voyage continues to deliver outstanding performances. In partnership with ABBA Voyage, Solotech supplies cutting-edge equipment and key production personnel across audio, video, and lighting disciplines.
Reporting to the Senior Project Coordinatorthe General Swing Technician will work with all departments to ensure the smooth playback of a pre-programmed show.
You will have experience in operating large scale live productions in theatre or other industries and must have extensive knowledge of Video or Lighting Equipment to include experience with integration of video with live performance.

Your day will look like this:
- Maintain and support the show’s system design
- Support the Video and Lighting teams during rehearsals, previews, performances, and maintenance periods
- Responsible for operating Video and/or Lighting systems during performances as required
- Responsible for managing associated control equipment during the shows and during show tech runs.
- Responsible for undertaking proactive and preventative maintenance during the shows and during show tech runs.
- Assist with the weekly scheduling routine maintenance and equipment replacement when required.
- Report equipment faults immediately and liaise with Solotech Project Managers regarding repairs
- Share knowledge within the Solotech team, contributing to cross-departmental skill development
- Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise, or after testing and resolve the issues i ndependently whilst working under pressure.
- Work closely with the Heads of Video and Lighting to ensure smooth daily show operations
- Monitor and manage spare stock levels for on-site repairs
- Support internal departments when required to ensure excellent customer service.
- Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager.
Level of education:
- Industry accepted qualifications
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or proven work experience
Work experience:
- Have at least 2 years of proven work experience within the live events industry
- General technical knowledge in lighting, sound, video & rigging
Essential skills / experience:
- Strong understanding of key control systems and technical disciplines used within live productions
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to multitask calmly under pressure
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and precise
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, diplomatic, and customer-focused
- Team-oriented with the ability to work autonomously when required
- Comfortable working at height while wearing a harness
- Discreet, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality
- Proactive problem-solver, aligned with company policies and procedures
- Ability to represent Solotech to the highest professional standard at all times.

Other requirements
- Right to work and remain in the UK
