Solotech is not accepting Agency/Recruiter submissions. The Video Manager will be responsible for overseeing the video technician team within the warehouse. This role ensures that the video department provides consistent, high-quality support to all employees, operates efficiently, and collaborates effectively across the organisation. The Video Manager will manage performance indicators and support the professional development of their team members, playing a central role in upholding Solotech’s operational standards.
Your day will look like:
- Lead, manage, support and coach the warehouse video team in their daily management of equipment.
- Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for the video department.
- Manage and facilitate the onboarding and integration of new employees following their introductory period.
- Train new hires on departmental processes, procedures, and company standards.
- Plan and organise the daily activities of the department and prioritise technicians’ tasks.
- Oversee team performance: set objectives, assess and manage performance, and address training and development needs.
- Ensure proper technical resource management, including the availability of necessary parts, tools, and materials for the inspection, repair, preparation, and maintenance of video equipment.
- Maintain optimal inventory management; follow up on missing and damaged equipment and ensure accurate records.
- Monitor and ensure the timely return of all sub-rented equipment.
- Prepare and pack complex video orders, including scanning and securing items in transport cases.
- Coordinate the maintenance schedules and upkeep of all video equipment.
- Provide ongoing coaching and training to team members on departmental policies and company procedures.
- Support senior management with departmental budget planning and tracking.
- Act as a point of contact for teams on the road regarding the technical aspects of equipment.
- Assist with the organisation and execution of equipment transfers between locations.
- Develop schedules, budgets, and labour plans for the successful execution of projects.
- Communicate with clients to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
- Monitor the quality of work to ensure it aligns with Solotech’s standards.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential health and safety risks.
- Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager.

Work experience:
- A minimum of 3 years’ proven industry work experience within a management role, within the live events industry with a focus on video.
Essential requirements:
- Right to work and remain in the UK.
- Ability to travel throughout the UK including overnight stays from time to time.
Level of education:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or relevant work experience.
