Join our world-class team as the Audio System Technician at ABBA Voyage. We are expanding our exceptional team to ensure ABBA Voyage continues to deliver outstanding performances. In partnership with ABBA Voyage, Solotech supplies cutting-edge equipment and key production personnel across audio, video, and lighting disciplines.

You will have experience in operating large scale live productions in theatre or other industries and must have extensive knowledge of audio systems, including experience with integration of audio with live performance.

Day to day tasks:

  • Maintain and support the show's system design across Audio, Video, and Lighting disciplines.
  • Operate and manage associated show control systems and equipment during rehearsals, performances, and maintenance periods.
  • Undertake proactive and preventative maintenance, including upkeep of stage, band, concourse, and show-critical systems to ensure operational reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults independently, liaising with Solotech Project Managers regarding repairs and equipment issues when required.
  • Assist with maintenance scheduling, equipment replacement planning, and monitoring spare stock levels for on-site repairs.
  • Liaison with Band, Stage management and show producers on day-to-day matters.
  • Undertake regular maintenance of stage, e.g., band microphones, audio racks and band IEMs.
  • As part of stage plot, ensure IEMs are working and trackers are in show working order.
  • Work closely with Heads of Department, Stage Management, show producers, and internal teams to support smooth day-to-day show operations and maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Support the training, mentoring, and sign-off of DEP's and Swing Technicians, contributing to knowledge sharing and cross-departmental development within the Solotech team.
  • Act as a trusted extension of department leadership, maintaining clear communication, supporting crew welfare, and promoting a calm, professional, and solutions-focused working environment.
  • Follow all ABBA Voyage communication protocols and adhere to internal Solotech procedures and processes.
  • Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager.

Essential skills / experience:

  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to multitask calmly under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of key control systems and technical disciplines used within live productions.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and precise.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, diplomatic, and customer-focused.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work autonomously when required.
  • Discreet, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proactive problem-solver, aligned with company policies and procedures.
  • Able to represent Solotech to the highest professional standard at all times.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Working at height in a harness (training can be provided).
  • Use of 1B Static Boom (training can be provided).
  • Knowledge of any/all of the following protocols applicable to the show would be of great benefit: DiGiCo Quantum 5 Platform, Optocore, L-Acoustics L-ISA Control, L-Acoustics Network Manager, Figure 53 - Qlab, Merging Technologies - Ovation, Aviom - A360, Audinate - Dante, Luminex - AVB, Reidel Communications - Bolero, Shure PSM1000 Systems, Shure Axient Digital Systems.

Work experience:

Minimum of 2 years' proven experience in live events industry.

Level of education:

Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or proven work experience, industry accepted qualifications.
