The Warehouse Assistant will assist with the preparation and dispatch of hire equipment. The role will provide invaluable support to ensure that the operation delivers exceptional service to its customers and that output meets the requirements of the business. It includes developing preparation processes and implementing improvements to make the team more effective and efficient. The role may also cover other roles within the operation with full training and support provided.
Responsibilities
- Administrative tasks as required.
- Develop safe working practices according to H&S policies.
- Prepare, assemble, and de-prepare new and used equipment.
- Assist the asset management team with stock location and requests.
- Assist loading and tipping of courier/transport vehicles.
- Ensure equipment is delivered within timelines and with appropriate packaging and documentation.
- Immediately report to managers any anomalies, lost or damaged equipment.
- Maintain warehouse in a clean, organised, and tidy condition.
- Liaise effectively with third parties and customers to provide high standard of support and customer service, adhering to Solotech service standards where required.
- Communicate (both written and verbal) with all areas of the business and outside sources in a clear and effective manner and in accordance with Solotech core standards where required.
- Work as a member of the team, developing positive working relationships with other Solotech colleagues, departments, and external contacts.
- Use forklift to load/unload vehicles and ensure a safe working environment is kept at all times where trained to do so.
- Handle any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by manager.
Essential skills and experience
- Good administration skills.
- Ability to interact with people at all professional levels.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure; the role is fast paced, with several jobs loading/unloading simultaneously.
- Ability to use computers, in particular Microsoft Office packages.
- Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised, whilst recognising when to ask questions.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Fit and able to lift and move equipment as required within given Health and Safety guidelines.
- Work as an enthusiastic member of the team, developing positive working relationships with other Solotech colleagues, departments, and external contacts.
Desirable skills and experience
- Knowledge of pro-audio equipment.
Other requirements
- Full clean driving licence.
- Right to work and remain in the UK.
- Forklift licence is desirable (training will be provided if without).
Level of education
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent work experience).
Work experience
- A minimum of 1 year experience within a warehouse environment.
