A Local Authority Client Finance Team is looking for two experienced Finance Assistants to support a busy service that assists individuals who lack the capacity to manage their own finances under appointee and deputyship arrangements. This is an excellent opportunity for organised and detail-focused professionals to join a supportive team and make a meaningful difference within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Making payments to clients
  • Managing a caseload of client finance accounts
  • Processing payments accurately and efficiently
  • Managing bill payments including rent, utilities, and care fees
  • Completing reconciliations
  • Completing budget planners
  • Preparing reports for the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG)
  • Ensuring clients receive the correct income and financial support
  • Liaising with internal teams, care providers, and external organisations
  • Supporting with team rota duties including post, Outlook emails, and telephone calls
  • Carrying out general administration tasks as required
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and case information

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous finance experience
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using different case management systems
  • Well organised with good time management skills
