Contract: Temporary (Initial 6-month contract)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Rate: £25.00 per hour PAYE | £31.39 per hour LTD

About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Commissioning Officer to join a public sector organisation on an initial six-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support commissioning projects that shape housing and homelessness services, working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, person-centred outcomes. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and provide strategic commissioning support within a fast-paced public sector environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and progress commissioning projects from planning through to delivery.
  • Review and develop service specifications and commissioning intentions.
  • Support procurement and recommissioning activities.
  • Develop project plans, options appraisals, business cases and commissioning documentation.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, partners and service providers.
  • Provide strategic commissioning advice and programme support.
  • Ensure commissioning activity aligns with governance requirements and delivers value for money.
