About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Commissioning Officer to join a public sector organisation on an initial six-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support commissioning projects that shape housing and homelessness services, working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, person-centred outcomes. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and provide strategic commissioning support within a fast-paced public sector environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and progress commissioning projects from planning through to delivery.
- Review and develop service specifications and commissioning intentions.
- Support procurement and recommissioning activities.
- Develop project plans, options appraisals, business cases and commissioning documentation.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, partners and service providers.
- Provide strategic commissioning advice and programme support.
- Ensure commissioning activity aligns with governance requirements and delivers value for money.
