We are seeking an experienced Programme Officer to provide essential programme and project support for a major Solar PV and Battery Storage Energy Services programme.
This role will support the successful delivery of a portfolio of renewable energy projects, working closely with contractors, internal teams, schools, planning authorities, Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), and other key stakeholders.
You will play a key role in coordinating communications, monitoring progress, maintaining programme records, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality and statutory standards.
The successful candidate will have strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with experience supporting complex programmes, coordinating multiple workstreams, and delivering effective communications across a range of audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide programme and project support across a portfolio of Solar PV and Battery Storage projects.
- Coordinate and maintain effective communication plans, ensuring stakeholder engagement activities are planned, delivered, and evaluated.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with contractors, consultants, schools, planning teams, internal departments, and external partners.
- Support monitoring of programme progress, timelines, risks, actions, and deliverables.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and reporting information.
- Attend project meetings, capture actions, and support follow-up activities.
- Assist with preparation of reports, presentations, and programme updates.
- Support compliance with statutory requirements, governance processes, and business case objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the wider programme team to resolve issues and support successful project delivery.
- Undertake occasional site visits across the region as required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a project, programme, or coordination role.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across several projects simultaneously.
- Experience producing reports, tracking actions, and maintaining project documentation.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Confident liaising with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Power Point, and Teams.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within renewable energy, Solar PV, battery storage, or sustainability programmes.
- Experience working within a public sector, local authority, or regulated environment.
- Understanding of planning processes, statutory duties, and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
Working Arrangements
This is a hybrid role requiring attendance at the office 2β3 days per week, with occasional travel to project sites.
Candidates should specify their preferred working pattern (30 or 37 hours per week) and expected rate upon submission
