We are currently supporting a major UK government-facing organisation in the search for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their core infrastructure team. This role will play a key part in supporting and maintaining critical enterprise platforms across a complex, multi-technology environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on infrastructure specialist with strong experience across VMware, Linux and Citrix environments, working within a highly secure and technically challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support and administration across enterprise infrastructure platforms
- Support and maintain VMware virtualisation environments
- Manage and maintain Linux (Debian) server environments
- Support Citrix platforms including upgrades, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Contribute to infrastructure improvement, optimisation and reliability initiatives
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and third-party suppliers to support services
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and knowledge sharing across teams
- Assist with infrastructure projects and platform enhancements
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong experience supporting VMware environments (configuration, updates, platform support)
- Solid Linux administration experience (Debian preferred)
- Experience supporting Citrix environments
- Good understanding of Windows infrastructure including identity and access management
- Exposure to public or private cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across enterprise infrastructure platforms
- Experience working within operational environments supporting BAU and project delivery
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced infrastructure support team
Additional Information
- Candidates must be British nationals and able to obtain SC Security Clearance
- Hybrid working with regular onsite presence required in Milton Keynes
- On-call participation may be required as part of the role
