We are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to manage the education property portfolio within a public sector corporate landlord environment. The role focuses on delivering safe, compliant, and well-maintained school and education buildings through effective surveying, project delivery, and asset management.
Key Responsibilities- Manage repair, refurbishment, and maintenance works across education buildings
- Carry out condition surveys and develop planned maintenance programmes
- Prepare specifications, feasibility studies, and options appraisals
- Administer building contracts (including NEC4) and manage variations
- Take responsibility for revenue and capital budgets
- Monitor expenditure and ensure effective financial control
- Oversee contractor performance and project delivery
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and health & safety requirements
- Act as technical advisor to internal departments and stakeholders
- Support asset management using systems such as Concerto and SFG20
- Qualification suitable for CIOB Corporate Membership (or equivalent)
- Experience in building surveying, project management, or property maintenance
- Strong knowledge of NEC4 and building contract administration
- Experience managing budgets and financial reporting
- Understanding of CDM Regulations and statutory compliance
- Ability to deliver condition surveys and maintenance planning
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in a public sector or regulated environment
- Experience within local authority or public sector estates
- Familiarity with SFG20, JobLogic, FastDraft, Concerto, or CAD systems
- Experience working with education or large-scale property portfolios
- Understanding of Hard FM and asset lifecycle management
- Ability to adapt to digital systems and evolving processes
