We're currently recruiting for an experienced Strategic Procurement Manager to join a well-established public sector organisation on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in housing, property or construction procurement to lead the delivery of complex procurement projects and strategic category plans.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will be responsible for delivering high-value procurement activity from strategy through to contract award, ensuring compliance with current public procurement legislation while driving commercial value, innovation and service improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex end-to-end procurement projects across major spend areas.
  • Develop procurement strategies and advise stakeholders on the most appropriate route to market.
  • Deliver compliant tender exercises in line with the Procurement Act 2023 and Public Contracts Regulations.
  • Drive value for money, commercial innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, including Social Value, Environmental Sustainability and Modern Slavery requirements.
  • Support contract mobilisation and contribute to effective contract management.

About You

  • Significant public sector procurement experience, ideally within a local authority environment.
  • Essential experience of housing, property, repairs & maintenance, construction or facilities management procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and PCR 2015.
  • Proven experience delivering complex end-to-end procurement projects.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • CIPS qualification (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
  • Additional Information
  • Hybrid working – 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (some flexibility available).
  • Standard DBS required.
  • Immediate start available.
