Rate: £40 per hour PAYE / £50 per hour Umbrella We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Property Lawyer to join a public sector legal team on an initial temporary contract through to the end of November.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a property lawyer with local authority, public sector, or strong commercial property experience to work on a range of high-profile development and regeneration projects.

The Role You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, helping to progress major property and housing projects and getting key schemes over the line.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Providing legal advice on property and development matters.
  • Supporting acquisitions and property transactions.
  • Advising on development and regeneration schemes.
  • Assisting with delivery models designed to address local housing needs.
  • Working alongside housing and contracts legal teams.
  • Supporting the development of several major estates/projects.
  • Advising on governance requirements and preparing/reviewing Cabinet reports.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and attending regular Teams meetings.
  • Managing a varied caseload and ensuring projects progress effectively.

About You We are looking for a confident and experienced property lawyer who can hit the ground running.

You should have

  • Strong experience in property / real estate law.
  • Experience working within a local authority, public sector or similar environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with acquisitions, development, regeneration or housing projects.
  • A good understanding of governance and decision-making processes.
  • The ability to provide practical, commercial legal advice.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • The ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining an effective member of the wider legal team.

This role offers remote working, although candidates must be comfortable attending virtual Teams meetings and collaborating closely with colleagues.
