I am a 52-year-old woman living with my family and puppy in the Burton-Joyce area. I have MS, epilepsy and have had a stroke. I have been a wheelchair user for 30 years. I am easy going and appreciate what people do for me. I love going to the cinema, browsing shops, going for coffees, walks down by the river and generally getting out and about. I can be quite quiet, so I’m looking for someone outgoing who will chat with me but not be offended if I don’t respond.
The successful candidate will be required to assist me with:
- Getting up
- Showering
- Toileting
- Support with some meals
Due to the personal nature of the role, applicants must be female. (The employer has claimed an exemption under the Equality Act 2010). Applicants must be 25 or over with an automatic driving license as you will need to drive me in my adapted vehicle. Experience of working in care or being in a caregiving situation is preferable, but not essential as full training will be given.
The hours are every Friday 9am to 3pm and every other Saturday from 9am for 4 to 5 hours. ‘Bank hours’ will be available to cover other PA’s holidays and sickness. There is the possibility of additional regular hours for the right person. The rate of pay is £13ph.
