Overview: Personal Assistant to support a client with autism and ADHD in daily living tasks, social engagement, and overall well-being. The role requires patience, reliability, and a calm, supportive approach.
Responsibilities:
- Encourage and accompany the client in community activities to improve confidence and social skills.
- Provide assistance with daily living skills, including maintaining a routine, tidying personal space, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Engage in activities such as gaming, music, or other interests that foster emotional support and independence.
- Offer flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the client's needs and promote consistent support.
- Monitor and respond to any challenging behaviours with empathy and constructive strategies.
- Work collaboratively with the client to develop long-term independence.
Qualifications:
- Patient, reliable, and understanding nature.
- Ability to work calmly with a client who experiences anxiety, low mood, and occasional behavioural challenges.
- Comfortable around dogs and cats, with willingness to share or engage in the client’s interests such as gaming or music.
- Strong interpersonal skills and desire to build a supportive working relationship.
- Experience or interest in supporting individuals with autism or other neurodiversity conditions is a plus.
Benefits:
- Pay rate of £12.71 per hour (Mon–Sat). Enhanced rates available for Sunday work.
- Flexible work hours with a base of 13 hours per week, with potential for additional hours.
