I'm a 49-year-old man living in the peaceful town of Hook, Hampshire, and I'm looking for a compassionate and experienced personal assistant to join my small, dedicated care team. I have complex care needs and use a wheelchair. While I need full-time support, I'm passionate about living life on my own terms. I seek stability in my care arrangements, ensuring my needs are met with minimal disruptions.

Maintaining my independence, well-being, and enjoying the things I love such as spending time with my family is incredibly important to me. I already have one fantastic live-in carer, and I am now looking for someone equally committed to working alongside us and becoming part of my everyday life.

The right person for this role will have a genuine caring nature, be respectful, patient, and able to adapt to my preferred way of doing things. A good sense of humour and a willingness to learn are key, along with the confidence to use your own initiative and work independently when needed. You'll be taking direction not just from me, but also from my family and existing team, so being a team player is essential.

Day-to-day, you'll support me with all aspects of personal care, medication, food preparation, household tasks, and getting out and about in the community. You'll always be on hand to ensure I'm safe, supported, and comfortable. This is a live-in role, and when covering, you'll have your own room within a calm and welcoming home environment. You must be a confident driver that is able to drive an automatic or manual car, as you'll be using the car to assist with community access.

We're looking for someone with previous care experience, who is reliable, respectful, and able to fit in with the existing team. You'll need to be adaptable, ready to step in when needed, and happy to work collaboratively with both the family and the lead PA.

ABOUT YOU

You're someone who truly cares about making a difference in someone's life. You have a calm, patient, and respectful approach, and you're able to build meaningful, professional relationships rooted in trust and consistency. You're confident in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and understand the importance of supporting someone to live life their way.

You'll need to have a strong passion for cooking and a keen interest in nutrition. You'll be reliable, proactive, and able to think on your feet. While you're comfortable working independently, you're also a team player, able to take direction from myself or my family, work collaboratively with my family, and communicate effectively with the existing carer.

You'll need to have previous care experience, ideally in a similar live-in role, and feel comfortable providing personal care, administering medication, and assisting with mobility and household tasks. A sense of humour and a willingness to learn are a must. I value a PA who can make me feel at ease and be a positive presence in my home. You must be a driver that can drive both manual and automatic cars. You will need a full UK licence, as you'll be using my car to support me in the community. Most importantly, you'll treat my home with respect and see this as more than a job. It's a partnership in helping me maintain my independence, well-being, and quality of life. If you're someone who truly wants to make a difference and be part of something meaningful, I'd love to hear from you.
