About the Role: I’m a friendly, fun-loving young man living at home with my mum, my dog, and my cat. I experienced a severe brain injury following a cardiac arrest when I was younger, so I now need round-the-clock support from both my family and a small care team. I have limited mobility and use a hoist for transfers. I’m also visually impaired and non-verbal, so it’s important that my support workers get to know the ways I communicate. I eat and take all my medication through a PEG. I love getting out and about, being active in the community, and enjoying things that are age-appropriate and meaningful. Having the right support around me helps make all this possible, so I’m looking for someone who really cares and wants to be part of that.
About You: You’re someone who’s calm, kind, reliable, and fun. You enjoy getting out, meeting people, and trying new things and you’ll be helping me do just that. Good communication skills and a patient nature are important. It’s essential that you have a full UK driving licence and feel confident driving a mobility-adapted vehicle, as I rely on going out to take part in my regular activities. Experience in complex care or learning disabilities is a bonus. I’m also looking for a non-smoker, as my respiratory health depends on it.
Benefits:
- Competitive rate of pay in addition to: 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata for part-time positions).
- Company pension scheme after 3 months’ service, subject to the scheme rules.
- Opportunity to join our Cash Back Health Plan, after successful completion of the probation period.
- Free training and development for all roles.
- Access to wellbeing and support tools.
- ‘Star of the Month’
