ABOUT THE ROLE

I am a 26-year-old female who lives at home with my family. I was born with a Chromosome disorder resulting in myself having Learning disabilities and Epilepsy. I have a number of complex care needs, and I am nonverbal which can make communication difficult. I am looking for an individual to join my team of Personal Assistants who has a caring, patient nature, who is willing to get to know me, understanding my complex needs and ways of communicating as well as respecting my family home.

You will be supported to get to know my unique set of requirements, covering all aspects of personal and medical care which includes PEG feeding, Respiratory needs, Tracheostomy care, medication, epilepsy care, mobility and communication, as well as simply getting to know me at my own pace and supporting me to remain happy and safe.

You will be required to get to know my team through meetings, shadowing, and a bespoke training programme. You will receive all mandatory training and specialised training annually.

ABOUT YOU

You will need to be calm, friendly and fun, flexible and unphased by my health needs and situations which you may need to support me with. I require 2:1 support to ensure I remain safe and well, so you will need to be a team player to become part of my Personal Assistant team, whilst supporting me with my complex respiratory needs and being alert and ready to respond to my Epilepsy seizure where required.
