Position Title: Support Worker

Location: Hourly Rate: £13/hour

Hours Per Week: Full time and part time (Part time hours less than 24 hours per week)

About Who Needs Support:

I am a young man in my late 20s. I am a twin and live with my disabled twin brother in our own home with our Mum. I need support with my personal care; I use a lot of equipment to support my physical wellbeing which in turn supports my mental wellbeing. To support my mental health, I enjoy completing activities and wish to attend community groups with like-minded people. I enjoy Dungeons and Dragons, as well as trading card games and board games, chess, anime, bike riding, swimming, art, and audiobooks.

Brand new commission for all day care various roles available and willing to take a mixture of full and part time, including evenings and weekends. I need a team of carers who can think on their feet and be flexible as my plans can change. You also need to be reliable and trustworthy. You need to be fit and healthy to support me with my therapeutic exercises and leisure activities; manual handling is needed as well as your engagement.

I need you to support me to continue to gain new and more life skills, meet up with old friends, and experience new interests. You need to be self-reliant and organised and be able to follow the plans about how I like to receive my personalised care. You need to be able to work in a team as well as work independently, including helping identify unique goals and planning projects for me to do. You will need to support my healthy eating habits, as well as keep my house clean with domestic chores and cooking that I am not able to do. You need to read paperwork/information/courses to me, record my views to respond, help break down information, and use creative ideas to support understanding, learning, and memory. There are cats and dogs in the home which I need support with. You need to be able to deal with my twin brother's needs as and when they arise for joint care.

Experience in Cerebral Palsy and Autism is not essential but would benefit supporting me, although full training will be provided to ensure you are fully aware of how to keep me safe and happy.

Full time (40 hours) roles available for car drivers with a full, clean driving license, and candidates must meet the requirements for motor insurance purposes.

In return for your dedication, you'll receive a competitive rate of pay in addition to:

  • 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata for part-time positions).
  • Company pension scheme after 3 months service, subject to the scheme rules.
  • Free training and development for all roles.

All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and are exempt from the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
