Self Employed Personal Care Assistant Required
I am a 51-year-old man living in the Stapleford area with my wife. I was previously very active, working full time and enjoying sports, gardening, and DIY. Following a diagnosis of Cauda Equina Syndrome and subsequent spinal surgery, my life has changed significantly. I now experience constant pain and am mostly bedbound, with difficulties around mobility, continence, and eating.
Despite this, I have a good sense of humour and enjoy a laugh and a proper brew. I'm a Notts County fan and enjoy chatting about football; other teams are tolerated! I value honesty, respect, and being listened to. I can become distressed if I feel my concerns are dismissed, so clear and straightforward communication is important to me.
I am looking for support from someone who will provide good company, engage in conversation, and help motivate me. This includes support with getting up and dressed, attending appointments, and getting out of the house. A personal goal of mine is to return to fishing, and I would like someone who can support me towards and with that.
The ideal candidate will be respectful, honest, straightforward, and encouraging. This role is for a self-employed Personal Assistant. You must be registered with HMRC, have appropriate insurance, and hold a full, clean DBS check. Being a driver would be beneficial to support me in getting out and about.
The role offers 13.5 hours per week, to be worked over multiple days, to be agreed with the successful candidate.
Please be advised that decisions regarding applications and appointment of role are made in conjunction with our client. Therefore, your full CV or application form will be shared with them for their consideration.
