About the Role

Are you an outdoors enthusiast? Do you want a rewarding role where you can truly make a difference while enjoying the fresh air? Do you also enjoy a good chat about the latest movies, Marvel and Doctor Who? We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and friendly Personal Assistant / Befriender to support an active and motivated 35-year-old man with learning disabilities in running his successful local lawn mowing and hedge trimming business. This isn't just a support role—it’s a partnership. You will act as his driver, business wingman, and workplace cheerleader, helping him stay on track, thrive, and deliver excellent service to his customers.

A Typical Day Might Look Like

  • 8:30 am: Head to Tollerton to collect the business tools and vehicle (electric), pick up our client and head to the first gardening job of the day for a 9:00 am start.
  • On the Job: Help load and unload gardening tools, talk with customers to interpret their needs, oversee time management, bookings and some paperwork, promote new client opportunities.
  • Supervision & Support: Provide friendly, positive supervision. Our client thrives on praise and loves positive reinforcement for a job well done!
  • The Vibe: Enjoying great conversations about films, sci-fi, and pop culture while working hard in the great British weather.

What We Are Looking For

  • Age 25+ with a valid Automatic Driving Licence (strictly required for vehicle insurance purposes).
  • An outgoing, chatty, and encouraging personality—someone who genuinely enjoys building rapport.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills to handle customer interactions and basic business paperwork.
  • A love for the outdoors (an interest in gardening, swimming, or skiing is a massive bonus!).
  • Flexibility: Because gardening depends heavily on the weather, we need someone who can adapt to changing schedules across the designated working days.

What’s in it for You

  • Up to 15 hours per week with the potential of additional hours for the right person.
  • A highly rewarding, active role where no two days are the same.
