ABOUT THE ROLE

I am a woman with profound intellectual and physical disabilities, so my family have written this on my behalf: I live in my specially adapted bungalow, next door to my mum and dad, and I am supported on a one-to-one basis by a regular team of support workers. My communication is mostly by facial expressions and body-language, although I do have a few words that I use effectively. I need full personal care, including continence support. I also have epilepsy. Because of my physical disabilities I am a wheelchair user and have a wheelchair-accessible car which my support workers drive to take me to interesting places. I love going out and about and would like to share my day with somebody who is enthusiastic, inspiring, innovative and creative, to bring a sense of energy into my life. I would like a happy, smiley person who is fun and chatty to be around, but who also knows when to be quiet and calm when needed. Companionship is a key element to this role.

ABOUT YOU

I am looking for a support worker (must be over 25, and car drivers), to join my team. You don’t need to have any experience, just a genuine caring nature, good sense of humour, patience, and boundless enthusiasm. I require support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Full training in all aspects of my care and support will be provided. I am looking for a reliable female Personal Assistant to join my team and to support me with all my needs. Female candidates only, due to the nature of the role (Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9). You will need to be flexible, and able to cover a range of shifts, including daytime, evenings, sleep-in nights, and some weekend working. Shift times are: 8am to 3pm, 3pm to 10pm, 10pm to 8am (sleep-in nights). You will be required to get to know myself through meetings, shadowing, and a bespoke training programme. You will receive all mandatory training annually.

BENEFITS

In return for your dedication, you’ll receive a competitive rate of pay in addition to:

  • 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata for part-time positions).
  • Company pension scheme after 3 months service, subject to the scheme rules.
  • Opportunity to join our Cash Back Health Plan, after successful completion of the probation period.
  • Free training and development for all roles.
  • Access to wellbeing and support tools.
  • Star of the Month rewards.
  • And so much more!
