I am a young man in my early 20's with complex care needs. I use a powered wheelchair to move around, but my disability and care needs don't stop me having a fantastic sense of humour and a wonderful quality of life. I live at home with my family and our pet dog, Oscar. It's really important to us that you like dogs as Oscar is a huge part of our life and I love to take him out for walks.
I play and coach powerchair football, which is a huge passion of mine. I enjoy being active and going out in the local community with my carers. I particularly enjoy going to the cinema and going out for food. When I am at home, I enjoy watching football, watching films, playing on my X-box with my friends and having fun.
It's really important to me that the right person to support me will enjoy being a part of all the above activities and bring a sense of fun and humour to the role. You will be required to assist me with all aspects of my personal care as well as supporting me with the administration of my medication, my moving and handling needs to include all transfers as well as regular repositioning during the night. I will also require support with my ventilation and suctioning needs as required.
Car drivers with a full, clean driving license are essential as I require support to access the community, and candidates must meet the requirements for motor insurance purposes to drive my vehicle.
Benefits:
- Company pension scheme after 3 months' service, subject to scheme rules.
- Opportunity to join our Cash Back Health Plan, after successful completion of the probation period.
