I am a 28-year-old gentleman living in my own annex at the family home in the Walkeringham area of Doncaster with my mum, dad, and our two dogs. I have a cheeky sense of humour and love to laugh. I have Cerebral Palsy and am a full-time wheelchair user. I require a hoist for all transfers and have complex health needs, including severe seizures, a learning disability, and I am non-verbal. I also have a baclofen pump, a Mic-Key button, and a suprapubic catheter. Although my needs may sound complex on paper, I am a very easy-going person to support and tend to draw people in with my warm and magnetic personality.
I attend a day centre Monday to Friday and enjoy getting out and about, listening to birds, being around nature, music, and people singing. I am very tactile and enjoy interaction and attention from those around me.
I am currently looking for two caring and reliable Personal Assistants to join my team and share 23 hours per week, with additional hours available to cover holidays and team absences. Hours available (to be split across 2 PAs):
- Tuesday: 4:30pm - 7:30pm
- Wednesday: 7:00am - 9:00am and 4:30pm - 7:30pm
- Thursday: 4:30pm - 7:30pm
- Weekends: Either Saturday or Sunday, requiring 2 PAs for 6 hours.
Please note that the hours are flexible and can be discussed with the right candidates. Rate of pay: £14.72 per hour.
The successful candidates will support me with the below but not limited to:
- Medication administration, including rescue medication
- Moving and handling
- Feeding via PEG
- Personal care and bathing
- Using a suction machine
- Emptying and managing my catheter
- Completing daily diary entries
- Transporting me to and from the day centre and out and about in the community
Full training will be provided for all aspects of the role. Applicants from previous Solo Support Services adverts or roles are welcomed.
