I am a young man with a spinal cord injury, and I am looking for Personal Assistants to join my existing team. I have a physical disability and require full support with all aspects of daily living to promote my independence and achieve a good quality of life. I enjoy outdoor activities such as watching football matches and socialising with my family and friends. Tasks will include supporting with my personal care, catheter care, nutrition, all moving and handling, domestic chores and enabling me to access the local community. Full training will be provided.
The right candidate will be calm and have a genuine caring nature, good communication skills and a sense of humor. Due to the nature of the care and support I require, individuals experienced in hoisting and catheter care would be preferred, however, full training will be provided. Car drivers with a full, clean driving license are essential, and candidates must meet the requirements for motor insurance purposes. I require 24/7 care and so various shift patterns are available:
- Day hours: 8am to 8pm
- Waking night hours: 8pm to 8am
I am looking for someone who can support me by working part time or on an ad hoc basis to cover holidays and sickness, as and when needed. Weekend availability is required for this role.
In return for your dedication, you'll receive a competitive rate of pay in addition to:
- 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata for part-time positions).
